‘The power of paint & soft furnishings’

Charis White’s (stylist/writer/shopping editor at Saga Magazine) latest blog features lovely roman blinds we made for a long standing client in James Hare Ceylon stripe & Fenwick & Tilbrook’s gorgeous warm ochre paint ‘Chanterelle’.

Charis’ blog is all about ‘Winter spice’ a beautiful palette of warm colours inspired by nature. https://chariswhite.com/2021/10/27/winter-spice-decor/#

Interlined roman blinds in James Hare Ceylon stripe, Fenwick & Tilbrook paint ‘Chanterelle’ a lovely warm ochre colour

This gorgeous room was enhanced by the addition of some fabulous comfy chairs sourced by my clever client & transformed by my talented upholsterer…

Howard style chair before & after re upholstery

This lovely Howard style chair has been given a new lease of life, now clothed in a smart herringbone ‘Tamarind’ weave from James Hare. A simple natural matt finish flanged cord was used instead of piping.

Another fabulous upholstery transformation is this lovely wing chair which was given a new lease of life in a soft ochre patterned fabric from Clarke & Clarke

Our talented upholsterer also worked his magic on a fabulous, buttoned, kidney shape sofa. We used really beautiful green velvet from James Hare for this & added a deep bullion fringe from another one of our go to trimmings suppliers; Troynorth, who have a great selection of trimmings & braids.

Gorgeous ‘Bergamot’ green velvet with the fabulous bullion fringe

A beautiful room full of ‘comfort & joy’. The ochre tones are just as welcoming on a sunny day as they are on a dark, cosy evening.
